Free QR Code Generator for Websites, Social Media and Business

Use the AjazMD QR Code Generator to turn a website link, social profile, contact details, Wi-Fi credentials, event information or plain text into a scannable QR code. Customize the appearance with colors, dot styles, corner shapes and an optional logo, then export a file for digital use or printing. QR codes work best when the encoded information is accurate, the design has strong contrast and the final print is large enough to scan.

How to use this QR Code Generator

  1. Choose a category and content type. Select Website URL, a social network, WhatsApp, Wi-Fi, contact card, event or another available type.
  2. Enter your information. Add the URL, message, phone number or other requested details. For a URL, include the full address such as https://example.com.
  3. Customize the design. Select QR style, corner style, colors, output size and optional logo. Maintain strong contrast for reliable scanning.
  4. Generate and test. Press Generate QR Code, scan the preview with a phone and confirm that it opens the correct destination.
  5. Download your file. Choose PNG, SVG, JPEG or WEBP. SVG is useful for many print workflows because it is vector-based; PNG is a good general-purpose choice.

How does a QR code work?

A QR code is a two-dimensional barcode that stores information in a pattern of dark and light modules. A phone camera or QR scanner reads the pattern, decodes the data and offers an action, such as opening a web page, connecting to Wi-Fi or saving contact information. The QR code itself does not guarantee that a destination is safe, so always inspect links before opening them.

Available QR code types

  • Website and content: website URLs, plain text, PDF links and other web links.
  • Social media: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, Telegram, Pinterest, Snapchat and Threads profile or content URLs.
  • Communication: WhatsApp chat links, email, phone, SMS and contact cards.
  • Business and marketing: menu or catalog links, review links, coupons, offers and app download pages.
  • Location and events: Google Maps links and event details.
  • Utilities and personal use: Wi-Fi credentials, crypto addresses, plain text and other links.

Tips for sharp, high-resolution QR codes

Choose a larger output size for print, but remember that increasing pixel dimensions does not improve a low-quality source link or fix a crowded design. For print projects, SVG can scale cleanly when the receiving software and printer support it. Use a quiet margin around the code, avoid low contrast, and do not cover important QR modules with a large logo. Always test the downloaded file at the intended print size and on more than one phone when possible.

QR code safety and privacy

Only encode information you intend to share. Avoid placing passwords, private documents or confidential personal data in a QR code that others may photograph. A static QR code generally contains the data directly; changing its destination later normally requires changing the QR image, unless the code points to a redirect or dynamic QR service. Be cautious with QR codes found in public places because a QR image can lead to a phishing page or unwanted download.

Frequently asked questions

Is this QR Code Generator free?

Yes. This browser-based widget can create and download QR code files without requiring an account. Your hosting environment and browser still need to allow the QR library to load.

Can I create QR codes for social media?

Yes. Choose a social media type and enter the full profile, post, channel or destination URL. The generator encodes the link you provide; it does not automatically fetch your social profile.

Which download format should I choose?

PNG is widely compatible, SVG is useful for scalable vector workflows, and JPEG or WEBP may suit certain image workflows. Confirm the requirements of your printer or platform before publishing.

Can I make a 4000 × 4000 QR code?

You can select a large output size. The export library and browser determine the final output, and very large raster downloads may use more memory. SVG is often preferable when you need to scale artwork.

Will a logo affect scanning?

It can. A logo covers some QR modules, so keep it small, use high error correction and scan-test the final download before printing or sharing.

Can I change the QR code destination later?

A static QR code cannot have its encoded URL changed after creation. You can update the destination only if the QR points to a web address or redirect that you control, or use a dynamic QR service.

Does the QR code expire?

A static QR code does not have an inherent expiry date. It may stop working if its encoded link, website, file or service is removed or becomes unavailable.

Why won't my QR code scan?

Check that the content is valid, the foreground and background have strong contrast, the code has a clear margin and the logo does not cover too much of the pattern. Test the exported file, not only the preview.

Does AjazMD track scans?

This standalone widget does not add scan analytics. Scan tracking usually requires a redirect or dynamic QR service that records visits.
